Cell Biology: Organelles
Mitochondria: produces energy (ATP) via cellular respiration
Nucleus: contains DNA, controls all cell activity
Cell membrane: protects the cell, controls what enters and exits
Ribosomes: build proteins from amino acids
Golgi apparatus: packages and ships proteins
Rough ER: studded with ribosomes, helps build proteins
Smooth ER: makes lipids, helps detoxify the cell
Lysosomes: break down waste using enzymes
Cytoskeleton: maintains cell shape, enables movement
Before
ok so today we learned about cells and stuff, the mitochondria is like powerhouse of cell it makes energy ATP through cellular respiration also nucleus contains DNA controls cell activities and cell membrane protects cell allows things in and out also ribosomes make proteins from amino acids and theres golgi apparatus too which packages stuff and ships it out of the cell dont forget that part for the test also endoplasmic reticulum which is like rough or smooth kind, rough one has ribosomes on it and helps make proteins, smooth one makes lipids and helps detox stuff, and lysosomes break down waste using enzymes theyre like the recycling center, and theres also the cytoskeleton which keeps the cell shape and helps it move around, prof said this is definitely on the midterm so need to know it well
